Baskets of Hope
Update: December 1st went really well. I was able to shoot all my baskets and actually made 712. The event got a lot of news coverage which God used to help the kids. The Lord rewarded me by letting me go to the Suns game and meet all the players including my favorite, Steve Nash.
I'm looking for kids and teams to join me next year. If you're interested please contact me at austingutwein@cox.net. You can still give to this site and the donation will go towards next year's event. "...for what you have done for the least of these, you have done for Me".
Thank you for giving,
Austin
Welcome to my fundraising page for Put Hope In Motion, a cause that's very important to me.
The fact of the matter is a child is orphaned by AIDS at the rate of one every 14 seconds. That's a total of 257 kids orphaned every hour. Now is my time to help. God has burdened my heart even though I'm not an adult to make a difference and to do whatever I can.
That's why on December 1st, I'm shooting "Baskets of Hope" for the Hope Initiative (find out more at www.worldvision.org. select get involved / hope initiative). I'll be shooting free throws for 8 hours at a rate of 257 per hour --- one for each child orphaned during my day at school.
My goal is to raise $1 for every shot taken for a total of $2056. This will provide food, clean water, education and healthcare for almost 6 kids for an entire year. It doesn't need to stop once I reach my goal, let's see how many kids' lives we can impact together! I would love for these kids to come to know Christ through this.
In fact, I would love for you to join me in Baskets of Hope on December 1st. Any kid can do it. Just click the link above and create your own page and help Put Hope In Motion!
World Vision says, "donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me." Any amount will make a difference but please try to give generously!
Both Put Hope In Motion and I really appreciate your donation. Thank you for supporting me. You've blessed a child's life!
