Hoops of Hope
Shooting 1,000 Free Throws to help children orphaned by HIV/AIDS
My Story:
I've always had a heart for the poor and decided to do something to help even though I'm just a kid. Last year on December 1st I shot 2057 free throws for kids who are orphaned by AIDs. That's the number of kids who are orphaned from 8:30am to 3:30pm (my day at school). When I finished my arm was tired but I knew that it helped a whole lot of kids.
But the problem is still growing. The children are still being orphaned and they say that 25 million kids will be orphaned by 2010 from this disease if we don't do something to help. This year I am praying for 1000 kids to help me in Hoops of Hope. If 1000 kids join me and raise $1000 each, we can provide food, clothing, a house, education, healthcare and the love of Christ to almost 2,800 kids!
The money I am raising will be used by World Vision to help care for these children and provide things like nutritious food, clean water, access to health care, the opportunity to go to school and the chance for them to grow up to be all that God created them to be.
Will you support me by making a tax-deductible donation on my web page? Every gift provides life-changing help for these children.
World Vision says donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts.
Please give generously, all the money goes to help these kids.
God Bless,
Austin
