Dear Friends of AHDH,
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!
The Association Haitienne de Développement Humain/Haitian Association for Human Development, Inc., (AHDH) would like to enlist your assistance in raising funds to maintain a full-time MD who has been hired to staff the St. Joseph Hospital in La Vallee de Jacmel, Haiti in response to the Cholera outbreak.
AHDH is a charitable 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was founded in November 1986 by a group of Haitians in New Orleans who decided to pool their professional, intellectual, economical and cultural resources in order to promote the welfare of Haitians by contributing to and/or instituting humanitarian programs. Since 1986, AHDH has been leading medical expeditions to the rural county (Commune) of La Vallee de Jacmel in Haiti. Please visit our website for more information about our organization:

As you have no doubt been hearing in the news, Haiti is now dealing with an outbreak of Cholera. As of early January 2011, 157,321 people were known to have been infected, 3,481 had died and 87,639 were hospitalized. During our Fall 2010 mission trip to Haiti, St. Joseph Hospital admitted several patients with Cholera, all of whom came from outside of the La Vallee de Jacmel area. At this time, with your support, we are seeking to maintain permanent staffing at St. Joseph Hospital to address the Cholera outbreak as well as continue to acquire needed medical supplies and equipment.
Our gratitude to all of you who have already responded to our call for assistance with your donations. What better gift for our Haitian Brothers and Sisters than a chance at life during this dreadful epidemic.
100% of donations to AHDH is dedicated to accomplishing its medical humanitarian mission. There are no administrative expenses or salaries, as AHDH's members are all volunteers.
