Bettchan's Fundraising Page
Hi there! Thanks for coming to my fundraising page for National Novel Writing Month. This fall, I'll be joining 100,000 authors in the challenge of writing a book, from scratch, in November.
It's going to be a busy month! As I write my novel, I'll be raising money for the nonprofit Office of Letters and Light, whose free programs such as the National Novel Writing Month have helped spark a lifelong love of writing in kids, teens, and adults around the world.
Your donations will go straight to the Office of Letters and Light! My goal is to raise $50. For the Young Writers Program, $50 covers the costs associated with writing, developing and posting one kid-oriented exercise and accompanying teacher lesson plan on the YWP site. $50 covers the cost of making and sending stickers to Municipal Liaisons in ten cities to help entice participants out of their writing solitude and experience the fun of the local write-in experience.
If I raise at least $10, I will receive a Donor Halo for my profile on NaNoWriMo.org (user: bettchan). For $25, I will receive the donor halo, a postcard, and two stickers. Finally, for raising $50, I will receive all of the above including all of Chris Baty's pep talks from 1999.
Thank you so much for your support of my writing and the Office of Letters and Light's literary mission! If you can think of anyone else who might be interested in sponsoring me, please forward this page along to them. PS: You should think about writing a novel in November too!
