Miles for Melanoma in Memory of Daddy Boy Bob
To the Caring Melanoma Community,
Thank you all for taking a minute and visiting my fundraising page. My sweet dad, Bob Mueller’s life was taken from this earth from Melanoma on November 25th, 2008. This was by far the hardest thing we have experienced as a family. He was a fighter, a lover and a champion in midst of the disease. He was diagnosed with Melanoma in May 2008. It was a short and cherished time for our family. And we miss him so.
Running has always been a common interest for my dad and me. He was my number one fan when I started running back in the day in middle school. He would show up at my cross country and track meets throughout school with the stop watch around his neck to cheer me on. He was consistent in cheering me on throughout every one of my running accomplishments. Days before my dad’s passing some friends and family members were pushing my dad around the neighborhood in a wheelchair. I was just finishing a run and I ended my run at his side. He put out his hand and said “good job Boo (my nickname from Dad)”. From that moment I have known that I have to run for him and Melanoma. He would be so proud. Truly.
Melanoma as a lot of you know is a horrible disease that desperately needs our help to continue and extend research. That dark day when the doctor came into my dad’s hospital room to let us know there was nothing they could do for him, was a day where I became passionate to help this cause any way I can.
I will be running the Seattle Rock and Roll Marathon on June 27, 2009. I am asking for your support as I run the miles to support Melanoma research. All the funds go directly to Melanoma Research. I will be updating this website and possibly starting a blog to track my training. Again, thank you for taking the time to look at my fundraising page and partnering with a cause that needs our help.
Thanks for Your Love and Support.
Bailey
