BULLY PAWS PIT BULL PATRIOTS INC
May 17, 2011 Update
Great news!!! We visited the vet this afternoon and Girl's surgery is scheduled for June 2nd! We could not have done it without your generosity and kindness! Updates to come after the surgery is over...
This is a story about a very acrobatic dog - not because she wants to be, but because she can't use her back legs. This is a story about "Girl".
Girl's family moved away and left her. She wandered in to the yard of the family next door and was finally coaxed into the garage with some treats and a lot of love. Girl began living in the garage and made fast friends with her new brothers and sister living in the house. One day a visitor noticed the dog in the garage...she was very thin in her hind end and was unable to use her back legs. She called Bully Paws to see what could be done for her.
After talking with her family, Bully Paws discovered that she had serious health issues...she did not have vaccinations, had some missing toenails and would only walk on her front legs. We had a volunteer check her out and she was considered to be one of the nicest dogs the volunteer had ever met. Since the family she was with could not afford medical care, Bully Paws agreed to have her assessed and brought up-to-date on everything.
Girl was seen May 3rd at our wonderful vet's office. She is suffering from two blown-out knees...including torn cruciate ligaments (ACL) and possibly miniscus tears. She is in quite a bit of pain as evidenced by how she relaxed after getting a shot of pain medicine. The only way to help her is with surgery and rehabilitation.
Bully Paws cannot afford the surgery at this time so we are making a plea to all of our friends who love animals...PLEASE DONATE WHAT YOU CAN TO HELP US HELP "GIRL"!!!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
