Hi,

I'm Barb and I am the Executive Director of The Myasthenia Gravis Association of Western Pennsylvania (MGA).  I am pictured with my friend and coworker, Donna. 

Donna was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis (MG) when she was 9 years old.  Although MG changed Donna's life forever, as a young woman, she became a committed volunteer for MGA. Today Donna is employed as  the organizations Administrative Coordinator.

So, what's up with the MG-A-Thon?  Well, because of the grave muscle weakness associated with the condition, many people with MG cannot participate in walk, run, bike, bowl or any other physically demanding "Thon's".  This Thon is in respect for June's MG Awareness Month and the challenges that people with MG champion each day.

Your donation insures that MGA continues the unique care coordination services and learning opportunties available in the community. The Treatment and Advocacy Center and Community Educational Outreach program are essencial services that are provided at no cost to the patient. 

Every dollar makes a difference in the life of someone with MG.
