Run for Friendship
BT has spent the year making lifestyle changes. She has become even more involved in community activities, but The Friendship Club remains near and dear to her heart. Through her experiences with The Friendship Club she has seen girls make significant lifestyle changes as well.
Yes, once again, it's that time...the fourth annual Run for Friendship is on the horizon and I'd love your help! 2011 has been a rewarding and challenging year for me. I continue to have the privilege to serve with 9 wonderful people on the board as well our Executive Director, Jennifer Singer and her staff of 6. Our largest fundraiser this year will be held on Saturday, September 10th, 2011. Many of you donated to our first three runs, which I greatly appreciate. We hope to have even more runners, walkers and donations this year. That's why I'm sending this to you! Our courageous girls will be by our side on the day of the event. The Friendship Club serves 100 girls each year; the program has helped 600 girls since inception. It's wonderful to see the program in action year round. College Knowledge program is one of my favorites; the girls are introduced to a goal of higher education right at the beginning of their time with TFC by touring our local Community College, Sierra College. I can proudly state that to a large degree I am responsible for enriching many young lives on a daily basis.
You can too!
$50 can fund an educational field trip for 10 girls.
$100 can pay for groceries for an after school meal for 100 girls.
$250 can provide school supplies and basic clothing for one girl.
$500 can send four girls on a weekend trip to tour 3 colleges.
Please feel comfortable knowing that any donation you make through Firstgiving.com is safe and secure. However, if you prefer, you may send a check donation directly to:
