Welcome to our fundraising page!    As some of you know,  we are training for the Boston Marathon ... AGAIN!!!  Yes, that's right, we were extremely fortunate this year as we were both able to get official entries into the 2012 Boston Marathon.  This means that come April, we will both join about 25,000 other runners as we take on the most famous 26.2 mile marathon course in the entire country.  This should give Renee a chance to improve on last year's time and will allow Keith a chance at redemption since Renee hasn't let him forget who ran Boston faster in 2011!!

As like last year, we have spent our past few weeks increasing our endurance in order to get ready for the race.  Thankfully, this winter hasn't been as bad as last year, but we are still gearing up for 3-4 runs per week.  We recently completed a 9 mile run with our running group, and are well on our way to achieving this monstrous goal. 

As the Boston Marathon revamped its qualifying process this year, official numbers for the race have been harder than ever to find. Thankfully, we were both lucky enough to obtain official charity numbers for this year's race.

In order to hold up our part of the bargain we need to raise $3500 for Generation Excel, a foundation that is dedicated to helping children and adults lead healthier lives through inspirational campaigns, multimedia initiatives, nutrition education and physical fitness programs. Since 2004, their organization has produced 4 campaigns, over 200 events, a documentary film and sponsored hundreds of children to attend weight loss summer camps. We would greatly appreciate any donation. We know times are hard for most people and that many of you have supported us in the past, but there is no donation that is too small. This website is complety secure, although they do take 7.5% of every donation as a transaction fee. If you would like to avoid that fee please feel free to send a check made out to "Generation Excel" to The Bartolomei's, 13 Emmet St #1, South Boston MA. The last date to submit donations is April 8th, 2012.

Also, if you know of anyone who owns a business / restaurant that would want to donate to our annual fundraiser raffle, please pass this along!  The raffle will likely take place in mid-March ... details to follow.
