**UPDATE**  Max has had his hernia repaired.  It was an extensive, rough surgery, so he has a bit of recovery ahead.  

Max was pulled from a shelter in KY. He is 1-2 years old and is suffering from a perineal hernia. He is definantly suffering from the hernia---it is really bad.   

Max went to the vet today right after pick up. The vet was shocked by the hernia's size.  He spent a good chunk of the day calling around to find vets in the area that did perform it (who were reputable), and to help get us a "good" price. A very large task since lots of vets don't do it and the cost is very high ( $2000.00 + ).
