Hi family and friends! Only 1 month to go! I am excited for the P.F. Chang's Rock and Roll Half Marathon on January 18. Recently I changed to the Half Marathon (13.1 miles) from the Marathon (26.2 miles) due to some knee and foot problems. I am pumped up though about the race and more importantly, the funds we are raising for the patients and families of Phoenix Children's Hospital!

After working at Phoenix Children's Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit for the past year, I could not imagine running for a better organization. These sick children and anxious parents need the support, great care, and healing that only Phoenix Children's can provide. 

Elvis, my honor patient, is now a healthy, active 18 month old. At 4 months of age, he was diagnosed with a hepatoblastoma. He went into emergency surgery, where 85% of his liver was removed, along with his gallbladder. The four months following required two more surgeries and numerous invasive procedures. He has been cancer free for a year now. His parents state that he had the best possible outcome as a result of the hard work from the friends they made with all the nurses, doctors, and surgeon at PCH. Spend an evening with Elvis and one would see a beautiful, growing boy, not an infant once ridden with cancer.

As part of the Miracles in Motion Team, I raise $2500 that is unrestricted, meaning that it will be used by the hospital to help support those in greatest need.
