Benita Spinner's Fundraising Page
Hello Family and Friends,
My name is Benita Spinner and I have Sjogren Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. Sjogrens is an chronic autoimmune disease in which a person’s white blood cells attack their moisture-producing glands. Today, as many as 4 million Americans are living with this disease. Fibromyalgia is characterized by chronic widespread pain, multiple tender points, abnormal pain processing, sleep disturbances, fatigue and often psychological distress.
Since I was diagnosed in 2008 I have done the Auto Immune Walkabout which I will do this year as well. In 2011 I will do a Half a Marathon to raise awareness for Sjogren’s. I am going to walk 13.5 miles for Awareness.
I need your help to do so! I have to raise $2,600 to be able to participate in this walk. I feel blessed to have Sjogren’s and not have as many complications as some that have Sjogren’s. I can be the voice and give my time and energy for those who are unable to do so.
Yes, I have days that I am in pain all day! Yes, I have days that it hurts to breathe at times! Yes, I have days that I want to cry from being tired! Yes, I have days that I get frustrated because I can’t remember! Yes, I have days that I freak out because I see something different that my body is going through!
Yes, I can wake up and go to work everyday! Yes, I can still live my life to the best of my ability! Yes, I CAN!
I have a very supportive family and very supportive friends. My husband is my backbone he will not allow me to give up! Or feel sorry for myself or cry!
Please help me reach my goal! Please forward to everyone you know! Look for updates of my training for the marathon. We are planning to sell dinners, candles and have a movie night to raise money for my event!
