Lisa Lobel's Fundraising Page
Hi Everyone,
April 20th already feels like it was so long ago!
I want to thank you all for your generosity and support. Together we are donating over $5000 to Friends of LADDERS.
I thought of you often during the 5 hrs and 24 minutes it took me to run from Hopkinton to Boston. Who knew Boylston St. was sooooo long? Running to the finish line, I felt like Dorothy, trying to get to Oz. So close, yet so far.
It was amazing to finally get to the finish line and see Angela and Rocco there holding a sign for me. It was well past the time that most spectators had gone home or into the nearest pub. It was chilly and windy, and the elite runners were probably already on flights back home, but they stuck it out to see me cross. Fortunately I also had my family there to see me finish. The pride on the faces of my husband, kids, my brother and his girlfriend, and my dad made it so worth it.
Last weekend I had the privilege of attending The Asperger's Association of New England's annual fundraiser. Listening to families tell their stories further convinced me that you and I have helped a tremendous cause. As most of us know, raising children is no easy task, and when you add the challenge of Austism or Asperger's to the mix it can be overwhelming and extremely expensive.
So, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you for the opportunity to run The 2009 Boston Marathon as well as supporting well deserving kids and families.
xoxo Lisa
