On November 23rd, 2013 I will be competing in my first ultramarathon- the JFK 50 Miler. The JFK 50 miler was part of an initiative created by John F. Kennedy in response to America's declining level of physical fitness. JFK mandated that all military officers complete the 50 mile march in less than 20 hours so it holds a special significance for me that I'll be completing it while on active duty.
I'll be taking advantage of the 7000+ feet of elevation and the rugged terrain in Afghanistan to help prepare me. I'm running in support of Team Red, White and Blue which is an amazing organization that focuses on reintegrating veterans into their communities through physical fitness and social interaction. All donations will go directly to the rapidly expanding Team RWB chapters across the United States. Thank you for your support!
