We have an immediate need in our community.  This year we are serving 4x more expectant mothers than years past.  Most have recently lost their jobs and housing.  Most have no transportation.  Two recent examples:

At 4 months pregnant with a baby boy, an expectant single mother lost her job, then her apartment.  Depressed and uncertain about her pregnancy, she asked for help. Bethany found a family willing to take her in and assisted her with receiving pre-natal care.  She selected a family to adopt her newborn son, who is now thriving with his adoptive family.  

A mother of 4 children discovered she was pregnant with a baby girl while attempting to restore her marriage.  Unfortunately her marriage failed and she asked Bethany for help; jointly she and her ex-husband agreed on adoption. The adoptive family is now lavishing love and attention on their new baby girl.

Bethany is called to help these expectant women by providing options with MORE LOVE!  So far this year we have served more than 90 expectant mothers.  If needed funding becomes available we estimate we will serve about 120 expectant mothers in 2009.  

From our experience with thousands of expectant mothers, providing MORE LOVE helps them sort through their options. After thinking through their options with a Bethany counselor, nearly all are choosing life!  About ¾ are choosing to parent their babies, and about ¼ are choosing adoption.  We do everything we can to enable a mom to parent her baby where possible and to make a decision that is in the best interest of her child and herself.

For those choosing to single parent, many need help getting ready to live independently and be a provider.  Bethany assists these moms in several ways including:  counseling, connecting to community resources, and providing needed baby equipment like a car seat.
