It's that time of year again...It's Walk-a-doggy-thon time at the Cocheco Valley Humane Society. This will be my tenth year fundraising for this great event. Over the past nine years I have been the top individual fundraiser six of those years, and runner up the other three. All thanks to your help.
This year to mark the tenth anniversary of my fundraising, I thought I'd do some extreme fundraising. In August I will be accomplishing the number one item on my bucket list. I will be going on a Kenya/Tanzania safari. The first nine days however I will be climbing Mt.Kilimanjaro. One of the Seven Summits. The tallest freestanding mountain in the world. I will be climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro to achieve a lifelong goal. More importantly, I will be climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise money for the Cocheco Valley Humane Society (CVHS)!
It will be a grueling 7day assent to the summit. 19,340 feet. Not as grueling as what some animals have had to endure. Thanks to CVHS, many animals have found loving, caring homes. rescued or surrendered from abuse, neglect, and a multitude of awful situations. After summitting, a two day descent follows.I will endure the nine days of pain to raise money for those who really need it. The dogs and cats and rabbits and all animals that need our help to find loving forever homes. Please help me help the animals by making a donation today. The first day of climbing begins August 9, 2011. I will be climbing the Lemosho route. It will take seven days to summit and two days to descend. High altitude climbing requires aclimization. I have started amping up my cardio vascular training and strength training to prepare myself for the climb.
My attainable goal is $5895. This is the height of Kilimanjaro in meters. My ultimate goal is $19,340 the height of Kilimanjaro in feet.

There is no donation too small or too large. In addition to random donation amounts I have named the meter club to those individuals or companies who donate $100. My goal is to get 59 companies or individuals to doante $100 that would be the easiest way to reach my attainable goal.
