If you know me, you’ll know that I like to do some really different kinds of things. Some of my past adventures have included: hot air ballooning, parasailing, riding an ostrich, camel and dolphin, hiking in the Grand Canyon, a volcano tube and a MS charity walk. So this year I decided to add on a couple of cold weather activities. Dog sledding and the polar plunge!
Thank you for visiting my Polar Plunge fundraising page. They say anyone with a little guts and a warm heart can take the Plunge and I am one of those folks. I’m collecting donations from family, friends, co-workers and anyone else who wants to support the nearly 21,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and more than 6,000 Young Athletes ages 2-7 of Special Olympics Illinois! Your donations will help provide athletes with intellectual disabilities the chance to participate in year-round sports training and competition.
To reward your generosity, I’m going to join more than 5,700 people statewide who will voluntarily jump into freezing cold water in the middle of winter as we take part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunges for Special Olympics Illinois. I guess you could say that I’m “Freezin’ for a Reason”!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to the LETR Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Illinois.
If you do decide to contribute, I’d love to know that you did. So please shoot me an e-mail and I’ll send you back a couple of pictures after I plunge! Bring on the hot cocoa…
Many thanks for your support – and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! Beth
