As many of you know, I run the Beach to Beacon 10K in Cape Elizabeth, Maine every August.  This year I am raising funds for STRIVE, a non-profit organization in South Portland, Maine that serves teens and young adults with emotional and intellectual developmental disabilities.  STRIVE's mission is to assist these individuals in utilizing resources within their community so they can participate as viable members of the community.  Presently, STRIVE serves over 600 teens and young adults by providing employment training, educational classes, social opportunities through a safe and chem-free environment, and other programs, including nationally-recognived STRIVE U, Maine's first post-secondary school program for young people with developmental disabilities, and CAMP STRIVE offering a school vacation and summer day camp program.  For more information about STRIVE, visit: www.pslstrive.org.
