Welcome to my web page!  This year Nathan has been chosen to be one of the GABR Stars.  Each year a committee chooses two kids to be race ambassadors.  This is a great honor for him and for our team, so this year I have set my goal high.  Every year I raise just over $1000, but this year I have chosen to aim for $1500.  All of the proceeds of the race are used to help families cover medical and medical related expenses that are above and beyond what insurance will cover. The Great American Bike Race has helped us a lot this year. In July Nathan underwent a major bone surgery involving his hips and knees.  The surgery was a success!  Nathan is now more flexible than ever and he is also able to walk short distances in a gait trainer.  Although he is still wheelchair bound, he is very proud of his new accomplishments.  In November, Nathan was diagnosed with scoliosis and he now wears a spinal brace.  Nathan may have many more medical needs this year that are not covered by insurance, so "Nathan's Patriotic Pedalers" are going to do our best to raise as much money as we can to help out Nathan and other kids with cerebral palsy, too.
