The ride is over and I am still alive. What a great weekend. I met some new folks and was able to pass on some of my wisdom (gray hair = wisdom). Yes I do have some wisdom. I would like to thank everybody who donated to me this year. I was able to raise about 50% mor ethan last year. The weather was great for this years ride. It did rain Sun morning when we took off.
Thanks Again
Bill
Welcome Back for another great year of riding. For those of you who know me I enjoy a good challenge in life. I am trying to up the ante this year and find a few folks/organizations to sponsor me by the mile. Last year I was able to ride Day 1 and Day 2 with the NEP pack and Day 3 I rode the entire loop ( and a few laps around the parking lot to get to 100). That put me at about 167 Miles for the weekend. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Heres the scoop. Last year was good for my first time. Perhaps this year we make it a bit more of a challenge.
Day 1 - Loon to Crawford with the NEP pack. (35 miles)
Day 2 - Loon to Conway (65 miles)
Day 3 - Loon to Loon. The whole loop (100 miles)
Labor day weekend - Well the training is over. I would like to thank everybody for helping me this year. Whether you donated or gave me the moral support to climb in the saddle on those off days - I thank you.
8/21 - 22 - 55 and 75 miles. OH the stories I could tell. Up to Concord for a haircut, tan lines tan lines blah blah blah. OH yeah. A sore ass also. I am ready to conquer the north country. Bring it all on.
8/17 - 18 - 55 and 65 miles. Rode Concord to Moultonboro for a beer or two (carbo loading right). Then around town on Sunday for 65 miles.
8/9 - 10 - 43 and 60 miles.
8/2-3 - 30 and 54
7/26-27 - Derry -> Concord (needed a haircut) -> Hillsboro (52 miles). Starting to get excited about Sept. Rode home Sunday 56 miles and got to play on some very nice hills over in Chester and Auburn.
Full swing into training now. I took a week off and went camping / tubing and for those who are from here playing in the rain. My weeknight rides are around 30 miles 3-4 nights a week and my long rides are on the weekends.
July - Time to get on the stick. Made a couple of new routes around Derry and found all sorts of new hills. I am now averaging about 30 miles / ride 4 days a week. My long rides so far are up to 55 miles (Derry to Laconia) and 43 miles (Derry to Hillsboro). For those who have have been on Rt 149 in Goffstown it is a great cycling rode. Hills in both directions.
June - Getting the legs ready for the summer. Riding off and on. I put in around 400 miles in June
Thanks again for your donations
