I have been involved with Special Olympics Georgia for two years as a member of the Board of Directors.  I am raising needed funds for the 22,769 athletes with intellectual disabilities who train and compete year-round in the program in hundreds of cities around Georgia.

The Special Olympics Movement transforms communities by inspiring people to open their minds, to accept and include people with intellectual disabilities, celebrating differences among all people…recognizing and respecting the similarities we all share. Through their participation in Special Olympics, the athletes overcome rejection, physical limitations, and fear, uniting the community in understanding and focusing on their ABILITIES instead of their disabilities.
