Hard to believe by looking at the picture to the left that I'm going to be celebrating my 59th birthday on March 16th.

I am proud to have recently been elected President of Tha Maine Way. I am looking forward to working with their very talented and dedicated board of directors.
In case you don't know much about The Maine Way yet, here is some information. I think you will see the benefit of supporting such a great organization.
The Maine Way, Inc. is a 501[c]3 non-profit, all volunteer, grassroots organization comprised of community leaders, social service providers and concerned citizens. Established in 1998, The Maine Way provides affordable housing and resources to help homeless people transition from homelessness to independence. Responding to the affordable housing crisis that has gripped Southern Maine, we recently purchased and renovated a beautiful Victorian building in Biddeford. Our new home has seven individual bedrooms and three shared baths as well as a common kitchen, living room, laundry, and resource room. The facility also has an apartment for our live-in house manager.
Each resident may work with a case manager to implement a plan to achieve self-sufficiency. Each resident will be provided assistance to help link them to supportive services such as job training, financial literacy and counseling. Each resident must be capable of living independently in a group setting and not have a history of violence or any felony convictions. Residents may stay for up to eighteen months, but we anticipate that most residents will be ready to move on to independence much sooner.
Our goal for all our residents is to learn the life skills necessary to live a full and productive life.
At The Maine Way, we give homeless people the opportunity for a new beginning.
