Last year I raised over $10,000 to battle cancer and ran my first marathon in honor of my friend Erik Hansen.

This year I ran/walked in the Marine Corps Marathon with 35 committed and giving people who make up "Team Hansen".  As a team, we will raise over $100,000 for lung cancer research in honor of Erik and other loved ones who are courageously battling this dreaded disease and for those who have lost their battle but live on in each of us.

Lung cancer is known as the "silent killer" due to inadequate screening that leads to late detection.   Lung cancer kills 84% of newly diagnosed patients within 5 years!

Did you know that approx. 50% of people diagnosed with lung cancer have never smoked or are former smokers?  And what about the other 50% who do smoke?  They deserve our support as well.

You see, we are all in this thing called "life" together.  Let's do what we can to keep our loved ones at the helm of their boats - living lives that make a difference for all of us!
