Hello!  

My name is Bill Pendley and for the past three years I have dreamed of taking part in the Ironman Triahtlon....WELL.. NOW IS THE TIME.  I recently signed up for the race in Louisville Kentucky.. What to expect?? A heat index of 100%, A 140.6 miles of swimming(2.4 miles), biking(112 Miles), and running(26.2 miles).... All in one day..

As I thought about the challenge I couldn't help but want to run for a cause! Something that would really inpsire me to to finish strong!  I have decided to support:

WOMEN AT RISK INTERNATIONAL

a nonprofit organization established to place circles of protection around women at risk. The purpose and passion of this organization is to wrap arms of love around women and children, whispering the message that they were created for purpose and dignity. Creating safe places for women and children rescued from many abuses including human trafficking/sexual slavery, WAR, Int’l desires to give voice to their silenced cries.

Within the last year I have learned more about this horrific evil, and have even learned that it is happening right in our backyards..Schools, airports and even neighborhoods.. Our kids are being preyed upon by one of the largest growing organized crime operations.   I ask that you please take the time to watch the video on this page to gain an understanding of what is really going on outside our doors..

My hope is that you will find this cause worthy to donate towards my fight  to house the victims and help raise awareness as I run the IRONMAN 140.6 mile Race on August 26th, 2012. 

THE GOAL? 

TO HOUSE AT LEAST ONE "VICTIM" FOR A YEAR!!!

Raise a total of $3000.00!!    

What I found is that it doesn't take much to help..

$8.33 allows a victim to live in a safe house for 1 day,

and $250.00 will house them for a whole month!! 

What does WAR do to help?

WAR is able to keep a woman in a safehouse for an entire month! During their time at the safehouse, women and their children are in a safe place and receive all the basics. They also learn a trade such as jewelry making and are paid a fair wage (a wage that a college graduate in their country makes). In addition, they receive counseling, childcare, healthcare and are able to earn their GED.

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. All of the proceeds go to W.A.R. International and will be used to aide in providing safe houses for those in need.
