Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page for the 2012 Polar Plunge benefitting Special Olympics Georgia. The 2012 Polar Plunge benifitting Special Olympics Georgia is an opportunity for individuals and businesses to form teams, compete against each other, raise money and make a difference in the lives of Special Olympics Georgia athletes across this state.
In 2011, the Polar Plunge benefitting Special Olympics Georgia raised over $80,000. Officers with the Dunwoody Police Department raised over $12,00 as an organization and was recognized as the highest law enforcement fundraising team for the second year in a row. Help us retain this distinction in 2012!
Here is some information about the plunge. Participants collect pledges from friends, family, customers and just about anyone in exchange for the opportunity to jump into icy waters (or just run into them!) in the middle of winter. All proceeds collected by “plungers” will benefit the athletes of Special Olympics Georgia.
Prizes will be awarded in several categories, including oldest plunger, youngest plunger, best “group” plunge, best costume, and many more. For those who are not lovers of the Polar Bear habitat, we will have areas to keep you warm.
Thanks you so much for considering a donation to this worthy cause. If you are inclined, please promote this cause with your family and friends, on your facebook page and with other people who might also want to become a "plunger"!
