Hospice Cup XXX
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts (you may still donate via personal check made payable to Hospice Cup, Inc. if you prefer). I am participating in the Hospice Cup regatta on September 24th in the Chesapeake Bay aboard Bella Donna. Each boat participating in the regatta is contributing to the fundraising effort for Hospice. This will be my ninth time participating in Hospice Cup.
I serve as bow man on Bella Donna every Wednesday night. I may not be the smallest or lightest guy as would typically be a bow man, but I can sure out reach most other bow men. :) It is a pleasure trimming the spinnaker on the downwind legs of each race. I really enjoy the teamwork that is sailing and the atmosphere in which we sail that is the Chesapeake Bay. It's nice to give back by once again competing in the Hospice Cup and participating in the fund raising effort.
Hospice Cup funds help pay the expenses not covered by Medicare or private insurance. These dollars enable the hospices to provide skilled compassionate care, comfort and dignity to the terminally ill, their families and friends. Hospice enables patients to carry on alert, pain-controlled lives so their last days may be spent in comfort, at home or in home-like settings. Hospice care concentrates on care, not cure. Bereavement counseling and support groups are part of hospice services after the loss of a loved one.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
