Bob Weaver's Fundraising Page
Dear Friends,
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the WALDEN SCHOOL's Spring-2010 Compose-a-thon. As my project, I have decided to attempt to compose a psalm setting for flute and voice to go with three other such settings that I have done over the years. I would invite you to "sponsor" my composition attempt with a gift to Walden through this web page.
I've been a faculty member at Mount Holyoke College in S. Hadley, MA since 1970. I retired officially last July from the Math dept. and from the Computer Science Department. Musically, I do a good bit of singing, including in our church choir directed by my wife, Anne (Conley) Weaver. I have composed some small things now and then -- hymn tunes, etc. -- mostly for times when Anne needs something for the choir or our congregation to sing. I had taken voice lessons back in the 1970's but dropped them when my voice teacher moved away. About 4 years ago, I took up lessons again and find myself singing more than ever now.
I am delighted to participate in this fund-raising Compose-a-thon because I know that the Dublin School is providing generations of young people the same kind of life-transforming experience that we were fortunate to have had when we were growing up.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
