Thank You for helping me reach my goal!
1 day left until plunge day!
It’s COLD......just in time for the annual Polar Plunge, a big fundraiser for Special Olympics of Nebraska. Our younger brother Chad, along with thousands of athletes’ from Nebraska, participate in Special Olympics Nebraska. If you know Chad, you understand how many oppurtunites Special Olympics creates for him.
Back in 2010, Chad competed in the USA National Games. There were some awefully great coaches & volunteers that helped him on his journey to winning the gold. Without the generous donations of so many of you, it simply wouldn't have been possible. Chad is a member of the Capital City Chameleons. Volunteer Coaches work with Chad and his teammates throughout the year, coaching and teaching them skills, & sportsmanship in many different sports. Money raised by these types of fundraisers goes towards helping SONE purchase things like uniforms, sports glasses and other supplies and equipment needed to safely and effectively get the most out of these team building oppurtunities.
Special Olympics is very meaningful to my brother, and all of these athletes’. In many cases, it's all they have to look forward to. If you are able, please help me reach my fundraising target and help support this great program! Last year, thanks to all your generous donations, I was able to raise $1,690.00, and I thank each and every one of you that helped me get there! This year I have upped my target goal, though very lofty, I'm shooting for $2,000.00! It's a bit ambitious I know, but I feel like I've got the support to accomplish it over the next 6 weeks. Your donation is key to helping me reach it again! Any amount that you are able to give is greatly appreciated!
As a little more incentive, if I hit my goal, my brother Ryan will drive from the warmth of Houston Texas and plunge with me, BUT I have to hit my goal! $2,000.00 and him swims while you watch! So if you want him to come back and visit for that weekend, we'll need a little help! DONE!!
As a thank you for your donation, (The Frozen Chosen) and I will be taking the Polar Plunge, the morning of February 25th. (Check out the Youtube video on the right) I've plunged the past four years, and I'll do it again! I'm going swimming in Holmes Lake in the middle of winter. The water is COLD, really COLD, and I don't anticipate it being any warmer this year. I continue to do this because of the importance of Special Olympics, and because it's a challenge for me. I do it because it's fun! It's an experience that a person never forgets! I haven’t let a little chilly water stop me from taking the plunge the last four years, and don't plan on it now!
Remember, your donation is tax deductible!
