On Saturday, October 11, I will be walking together with 500 other animal lovers in the 8th Annual Stride for Strays benefiting the Animal Coalition of Tampa (ACT).
My personal fundraising goal is $1,000 (the average goal for each walker is to raise a minimum of $100). I would appreciate any support that you could give me for this very worthwhile cause.
In 2007, nearly 25,000 homeless, lost, and abused animals lost their lives in our county because there were just not enough homes for them all. With your support, ACT is working to end this tragedy by continuing its mission: To provide low cost, high quality spay/neuter options in the community, especially to those people who cannot otherwise take the proper measures to keep boxes of puppies and kittens from entering the front door of our county shelter. Spaying and neutering has brought many communities out of this heartbreaking reality, and it will do the same here as we go forward toward the vision.

The Animal Coalition’s goal this year is to raise over $70,000 which will help them provide vaccinations and sterilization services for the low income community and the animals entrusted in their care. ACT also educates the community about respect and kindness to animals and the health benefits of spaying and neutering. Based on ACT’s amazing growth of recent years I am sure that they will reach, if not exceed, this impressive goal.
