As an occupational therapist, everyday I have the opportunity to work with amazing children who have various disabilities and diagnosis. Everyday is a reminder of how very blessed I am for my health and that of the people I love. A reminder to be grateful for the abilitity to talk, walk, RUN, play, eat, problem solve, interact with others, etc.... things that all too often are taken for granted.
These are some of the reasons I have decided to train for the Arizona PF Chang's Rock and Roll Marathon. I will be running to raise funds for the Phoenix Children's Hospital and Owen, a young boy who at the young age of 8 is fighting bone cancer and has already endured 9 months of chemo, 10 surgeries, and as his mom described " holds back tears from the pain of physical therapy three times a week", with the hopes of someday being able to walk again.

WHY DONATE?????????
- Approximately half of the patients treated at Phoenix Children's have little or no private medical insurance
- Phoenix Children's provides tens of millions of dollars for Arizona's most vulnerable children, providing treatment regardless of a family's ability to pay!!! (This is where YOUR money comes in!)
- All donations are used only for direct patient care.
- Your donation is tax deductible
- Every dollar counts, so please give as little or AS MUCH :) as you can!
Even though no amount of money can help families with the pain in dealing with their child's illness, your contribution can at least help families ease the financial buren of medical expenses.
Please take a second and make a contribution. How much are you willing to invest to make a difference???
... even if its ten bucks!! (That's how much you'd spend on a trip to the movies or a drink at the bar ... and probably more since you know you gotta have the popcorn & gummi bears...and c'mon who really only buys one drink ;)
