RIP
Ms Mona B
1992 - 2009
Little "Tina"(as they called her) wandered into the Humane Society in West Kennebunk, ME on October 15, 2001 and just two weeks later she jumped into our hearts as Ms Mona B.
or...Mona Pee, Mona Patona Scona, Mona Bizzle El, Richard, Mona Bay, etc.
She was 8 years young and full of love.
The night I picked her up, she laid down in the passenger's seat of my SUV and rested her head on the armrest as she stared up at me with the moonlight shining down on her face. Who would have thought that sweet look could continue for the next 8 years.
Mona has made many friends over the years and she has been lucky to have all of you in her life. I believe that when those who we love pass, you will not find them in a box beneath the ground or in an urn on your mantel, but you will find them at the places they love, doing the things they love. She would love to see you all:
· At the park, taking a stroll
· Laying in the grass, catching some rays
· Walking on the beach in NH
· Having FP’s at grandma’s house
· Taking a noontime siesta on her bed
· Hanging with friends, shaking her tail
Two years ago, Ms Mona was diagnosed with lymphoma. She spent almost two years on special medication and she was feeling great and having a great time eating everything in sight and chasing the cats around the house. About 3 months ago, we stopped this treatment and she continued to do great. Just recently her kidneys started to fail and that has brought her to the end. She hasn’t been eating much and she doesn’t look too happy, so Ulla and I decided to put her down. As some of you may know, it is a very hard decision to put your animal down.
Please donate to help to support your local Humane Society so that all of us can have the chance to adopt someone like Mona. Also, if you plan on getting a pet, please make sure you adopt from a shelter.
One thing I saw the other day made me very happy…The pet store in the local mall had gone out of business and the local animal shelter had taken over the location.
STOP BUYING PETS! ADOPT!
