Thank you for taking the time to visit my fund-raising page.
This year I am running for Team Standing Tall in the New York City Half Marathon on Sunday March 18th. We are a team of 25, running to raise awareness and financial support for a very unique school for children with multiple disabilities called Standing Tall.
Standing Tall was organized in 1997 by a group of parents, medical professionals and educators seeking a more powerful and integrated approach to teaching children with motor issues. Since then, Standing Tall has grown from a six-week program for a handful of children to a full-time center serving children 1 year old to 15 years old from all over the Tri-State area. Standing Tall continues to improve its current programs and to develop new ones for this generation and the next.
Standing Tall’s program is based on an approach called Conductive Education. At Standing Tall, young students use their bodies actively throughout the day while learning reading, math, literature, music, science and art. They get out of their chairs – quite literally "standing tall" – to meet physical as well as academic goals.
Standing Tall is a very special and unique place. It is a bright spot for families and children with limited alternatives. Your donation helps Standing Tall to continue its mission, to improve its educational offerings and to make its programs available to more childern with motor disabilities.
If you are able, won’t you please join me in standing tall to support the children at Standing Tall who are not yet so able? For the runners, the challenging journey of 13.1 miles will be over in a few short hours. These children face much greater challenges every day, all day.
THINK 13.1! A donation of $2 per mile will help get us to our goal for this year's race.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Thank you for your generosity. Any and all support is greatly appreciated so please forward to anyone you think might want to help out too !!!
