The Essence of Living is Giving!

We need your help! We depend on the generosity of the community to provide programs designed to enrich the lives of children and families. Our annual Strong Kids Campaign is the fund and Friend raising program that allows us to articulate our needs and connect with these who can help fulfill those needs.

Donors can designate to a specific project or make a general gift to be designated by the Board of Directors for the current greatest need.

• Program Scholarships - It is our goal to ensure no child is turned away from our programs because of the inability to afford our fees. In 2008, we provided over $110,000 in scholarship assistance to 159 resident campers and thousands more to children enrolled in day camp and child care programs.
• Program Subsidy - Our Child Care Center serves a critical need in our local communities of Manitowish Waters, Winchester, Boulder Junction, Presque Isle, and Mercer but because of the high standards and staffing requirements of operating a state licensed center with a small population of young families - we are subsidizing this service to the tune of about $40,000 annually. Without community support this program could not be maintained.
• Facility and Program Equipment Upgrades - In 2009, we are adding new programs including a portable climbing wall and geocaching using hand held GPS units. Sailboats, canoes, backpacks and tents all need to be replaced from time to time so support is also needed to maintain the highest quality experience at the most affordable rates.

Camp Jorn YMCA is a 501 (c) 3 organization all gifts are tax deductible.

Levels of Giving

We are thankful for all contributions to the continued success of the Camp Jorn YMCA. All contributions are recognized in the fall addition of our Ripples newsletter. We have created the following giving levels to support donor recognition.

Friend of youth        $25 to $149

        Loon                  $150 to $249

        Deer                   $250 to $499

        Wolf                   $500 to $999

       Bear                  $1000 to up

      Eagle                $2500 to up

 

Every Donation Counts!

Your gift of $10/month or $120 makes it possible for a child to attend a preschool session.

Your gift of $25/month or $300 makes it possible for a child to attend a week of Day Camp.

Your gift of $50/month or $600 allows a child to attend a week of resident camp.

Your gift of $100/month ($1200) can be recognized as a Grand Sponsor of our Child Care Center.

Your Gift of $250/month ($3000) allows multiple children to attend a session of day camp, resident camp or several months of child care.

 

 

Camp Jorn YMCA is located on the Manitowish Chain of Lakes in Northern Wisconsin. Programs include Resident Camp, Family Camp, Day Camp, Child Care and Leadership Development Programs. Activities include canoe trips, swimming, water skiing, horseback riding, recreational sports, archery, kayaking, sailing, campfires, crafts and much more. We are accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA).

The mission of Camp Jorn YMCA is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body.

 

Financial Assistance Policy

Financial assistance is based on ability to pay. It is the goal of the Board of Directors that no child be denied a Camp Jorn experience by reason of inability to afford our fees. Funds made available for financial assistance are provided through our Annual Strong Kids Campaign.

 

Sponsor A Camper

Your one-time gift of $664 will make it possible for one camper to attend a one week resident camp session, including round trip motor coach transportation. When possible you will receive pictures and a personal thank you from the camper you sponsored.

Dear Sponsors,

Thank you for my scholarship to Camp Jorn this summer. My favorite things were kayaking, swimming, tubing and the sock off. I had lots of fun. I made new friends. One day we went to town and got Ice Cream, which was good cause it was hot out. That was a lot of fun. We went to fox island and I made a big sand castle, we got there by a pontoon boat. The activities were fun. I did air rifle, Ti Kwon Do, and Archery. My favorite activity was Ti Kwon Do. I learned how to do kicks and punches. I am hoping to come to camp next summer. This was my second time to Camp Jorn. We live in the city of Virgina Beach, VA. There are no fun outdoor Northwood’s activities there. Coming to Camp Jorn gives me a chance to do outdoor stuff you can’t do in the city. I hope next year I will have some of my old bunkmates.
