The Haiti Challenge is a three or six mile walkathon benefiting earthquake victims in Haiti. Walkers will recruit ten or more sponsors to donate $10 per mile walked. Our goal for The Haiti Challenge is at least $50,000. The need is so urgent that we have already sent GAiN an advance donation of $10,000 in anticipation of a great response from the community. We also will be sending additional Haiti Challenge proceeds as they come in.
Extreme Missionary Adventures is partnering with Global Aid Network (GAiN) to provide on-the-ground assistance to Haiti earthquake victims. GAiN has provided humanitarian aid to Haiti for many years. Due to this ongoing relationship GAiN already had over one million emergency meals in storage in Haiti in preparation for the upcoming hurricane season. These meals are providing a start but much more assistance is needed. GAiN is working through their established partners in Haiti to provide immediate food, water purifiers, clothing and medical supplies. The Haiti Challenge will provide funding for GAiN to ship and distribute additional supplies and for XMA volunteers to provide on-the-ground distribution of these supplies, conduct medical clinics and other basic services.
