On August the 6th through the 13th 2011 I will be traveling back to Honduras in Central America with XMA (Extreme Missionary Adventures). This will be my first trip back to Honduras since January 2010. This mission trip for me will be different than the first one; the main focus will still be to support the local pastor through the distribution of humanitarian aid and to show the Jesus film in different villages however, I’ve had the pleasure to receive specialized training from Dr. David Curtis, O.D. called “Eye Doc in a Box”. Dr David Specifically, trains laypersons like me, to lead medical mission’s trips and conduct eye clinics. My goal is to examine at least 100+ villagers and if needed treat minor infections and provide eye glasses to increase their quality of life. At the end of the trip I pray that we will have found someone local that I can train and leave my supplies with so that the eye care need won’t stop because we leave. I want to ask you to pray about joining our support team. We are asking God to do a mighty work through us, but I must start with putting together a team of people who will pray and invest in us. I have to raise $3,000 to cover the trip and ministry expenses by July 1st – in time to organize and finalize the trip details.
