Brian Lucy's Cystic Fibrosis Fundraising Page
For all of you that have donated - THANK YOU very much for your generousity.
For those of you who are first visiting this fundraising page, on August 9th, Meredith Wells and I ran the 2009 Falmouth Road Race for the benefit of Cystic Fibrosis ("CF") research and Laura and Cate Cheevers, friends of my children and grandchildren of Gerry Cheevers - the Bruins legend. In addition to these two kids, my family and I live a few doors down from another wonderful young adult, Kate Rokos, who has been successfully battling this disease for over 20 years. These wonderful individuals are most deserving of anything you can give. If you met any of them, you'd quickly agree.
Unfortunately, they all currently have CF. CF is an extremely challenging genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. Having CF means taking measures each and every day to keep their lungs healthy. Their daily life consists of physical therapy, numerous medications, and nebulizer treatments. It also means periodic trips to the hospital for IV antibiotics. All this, and they keep up their busy lifestyle of school, dancing, soccer, basketball, and friends - all with a smile!!. They are able to do this because of all the loving support of family and friends like you!!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Thank you again for your generous support !!
