I have been planning on running the Pittsburgh Marathon for some time and when I had the opportunity to bring together two of my passions (Running and Teaching) I couldn't resist.  The Pittsburgh Promise is a great organization and I encourage you to go to their website and check them out.  I have seen firsthand just how the “promise” of these scholarships have changed the way students look towards their futures.  It has also been an amazing thing to see the impact The Pittsburgh Promise has had on the North Side community in just a few short years.  It is because I have the privilege to work with these Pittsburgh Public School students each day as a teacher on the North Side that I am more than confident in telling you that any money you can spare to support them is an investment that is worth while and one that will have a lasting impact on some hard working and deserving young people.
