Eating disorders have the highest premature mortality rate of any psychiatric disorder and continue to be misunderstood by many. Additionally, eating disorders impact people of all ages, socioeconomic statuses, ethnicities, genders, and sexual orientations, and insurance coverage for treatment tends to be less than adequate despite that its outcome is better than for obesity or breast cancer.
Please join me and the rest of the UCSD Eating Disorders Treatment and Research team to turn these tables around by contributing to UCSD's NEDA Walk. Your tax-deductible contribution will go directly to the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), an organization that provides invaluable information and advocacy for clients, caregivers, and treatment professionals.
Thank you in advance for considering donating and I hope to see you out there on the bay walk!
