Dear friends & family,

This Saturday, I'll be participating in Run to the River, a 10k/5k to support theNeighborhood Resource Center (NRC). The NRC is a vibrant community center located in Richmond's East End. Children come to the NRC to:

• learn in the Montessori pre-K program, that brings quality education to families of all income levels through a sliding-scale fees
• develop confidence, poise, self-esteem and independence in martial arts and dance classes
• express themselves through poetry, song and performance, in the Young Writers Recording Studio
• learn about nutrition, healthy cooking, gardening and ecology in the new NRC Cafe and organic garden
• improve their reading and math skills in after-school tutoring
• find a safe, loving environment off the streets

I hope you'll support the NRC by sponsoring me. The NRC is making a huge difference in the lives of so many young children here in the East End.
