Elm City Derby Damez Fundraising Page
The Elm City Derby Damez is a newly established all-women’s flat track roller derby league comprised of dedicated skaters ranging in ages from 16-47 who are like minded in their desire for good friendship, good exercise, and good fun. They began actively practicing bi-weekly in March of 2009 after nearly a year of preparation and recruitment. In this short time the Damez have consistently made strides towards positively impacting the lives of their skaters and their community by hosting activities, attending local events such as Brattleboro VT’s Strolling of the Heifers and the Jaffrey Night of a Thousand Cupcakes, and by offering their time to charitable organizations such as the Monadnock Humane Society and the Walk to Fight Hunger. The Damez strongly believe that through hard work and resolve positive changes can be made to the community. They feel it is their duty as members of said community to step up and do their part.
Roller Derby is a contact sport whose popularity has been on the rise in recent years with leagues popping up all over the country. The Damez have been actively scrimmaging other leagues since August of 2009 and hope to gain more momentum in months to come. The league holds open door practices twice a week and is always looking for more people regardless of experience! Parties interested in skating, refereeing or volunteering should contact the Damez at Elmcityderbydamez.com for more information.
We greatly appreciate any donations made towards our team for the Walk For Animals. This is a great opportunity to support a wonderful organization, Monadnock Humane Society, and a great team who's members have given time doing grounds work and donating food to MHS. Thank you for your support.
