Hi! My name is Brittany, I was born with Atrio Ventricular Septal Defect. I have attended Camp Del Corazon for six years, and I became to old to be a camper, so I started going to PACE. PACE stands for Progressive Adult Congenital Experience. PACE is amazing, it teaches us what to expect in life living with a Congenital Heart Defect as an adult. The Mentors teach us about Insurance, going to college, and living on our own and how to deal with our heart defects.
    Camp Del Corazon and PACE has made a huge impact on my life. Through these nonprofit organizations, I have met alot of amazing people and have built a friendship with some of them. It is easy to talk to them about personal expierences with surgeries, medicines, and heart conditions because each and everyone of us has a heart condition and know what it is like to be in and out of the hospital. Both PACE and Camp Del Corazon give children and young adults a chance to escape everyday life and doctors appointments.
