Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. As some of you know and some don't, my grandma passed away May 1, 2011 from Breast Cancer. She was diagnosed April 6, 2009. Breast cancer is the most common cause of cancer in women (excluding skin cancer) and is the second leading cause of cancer death in women. Worldwide, approximately 1.3 million cases of breast cancer will be found each year. With your donations to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation it will help sponsor innovative clinical and translational research at leading medical centers worldwide to help find a cure. Also, it will help with Awareness. Awareness is an important  key because women need to be aware of the importants of having regular mammograms after age 40. The ACS estimates  230,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer detected in the year 2011 compared to 57,650 cases of non invasive or earliest form of breast cancer and 39,520 deaths.
