We are REALLY doing this.......we have harnessed our inner princesses and are joining team GP2C and running the Disney Princess 1/2 Marathon in Feburary!

Meet our Team:

Kristin Sheets - I am Brooklyn's Aunt Kristin and any of you who know me know that I do not run unless someone is chasing me! This whole marathon training has been tough, but at anytime I think I can't, I just picture Brooklyn and know that she would give anything to be running right beside me! So my self pity is fleeting and I will suck it up and run for Rett, run for Brooklyn, run for a cure......and hope to meet Mickey at the finish line!

Kelly Butler - I am Brooklyn's Mom and I admit - I had not run since junior high, until now. This 1/2 marathon seemed like a challenge I just COULDN'T do. Then I thought of all the challenges that Brooklyn faces each day - she battles seizures, breathing abnormalities and feeding difficulties which require a feeding tube. She cannot walk, talk, or use her hands to eat or play. She does not get to be the typical little six year old girl that she deserves to be. Because of her.....I am going to do this.......ALL 13.1 miles!

Emilie Rains - I first met Brooklyn at  church and she has become a special part of my life. I have been running for a year and a half. I completed my first half marathon last fall. When I heard about the Princess half marathon I knew I wanted to run for Team Brooklyn! Join me as I raise awareness and support for a cure for Rett Syndrome.....a cure for Brooklyn!
