Dear Family and Friends:
The “STEPPING OUT TO CURE SCLERODERMA” walks are approaching rapidly, this year we will volunteer on Sunday, May 23 at Overpeck Park in Leonia and also in New York City on Sunday, June13.
It is hard to believe that on June 22 it will be 10 years since Pat lost her battle to Scleroderma, as well as 9 years for Beverly on June 21.
Since that time, Lindsay has become a lovely young woman, working and living in Manhattan and has accepted the challenge of being Chairperson for the 2010 Manhattan walk. John has grown up in more ways then one, having just finished a semester studying in London, and traveling extensively through Europe. My efforts continue to be focused on finding the cure for Scleroderma by organizing walks, coordinating fundraising events, speaking at education days, and working tirelessly for the passage of the Scleroderma Research and Awareness Bill in 2010. At the National Convention in St. Louis last summer, I was pleasantly surprised to be awarded National Volunteer of the Year and my crusade continues.
There are five ways to register to walk with us or to donate:
1) Drop off or mail registration or donation to our home
2) Mail registration or donation directly to TriState in Binghamton, NY
3) Show up in NJ on May 23 or NYC June 13
There is more hope for those with Scleroderma to live a normal life today than ever before.
On a personal note, all of you know what your support has meant to John, Lindsay and I over these past ten years. Your continued support and donations are appreciated and we are grateful for any donation during these difficult economic times.
Sincerely,
Bruce R. Cowan
