Carol Taylor Swim for Hope 2010
Thank you for visiting the Carol Taylor Swim for Hope page. Carol was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March 2007 and passed away on January 16, 2008. Pancreatic cancer is the fifth most common cancer in both men and women in the US. According to the American Cancer Society, it is estimated that there will be 43,140 new cases of pancreatic cancer in 2010 and 36,800 deaths.
Carol was a long-time parent volunteer for the Old Bridge Breakers swim team, and the team is sponsoring this event in her memory. We hope to provide information about pancreatic cancer and about efforts to find a cure, and to raise funds for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. PanCAN is a nationwide network of people dedicated to creating hope in a comprehensive way through research, patient support, community outreach and advocacy for a cure.
The Swim for Hope will take place at the Old Bridge pool, 3600 Beaver Pond Rd., Woodbridge, Virginia on Monday, July 19, 6:45-10 p.m. Food and beverages will be available, and swimmers will be given commemorative caps and t-shirts.
