Mount Rainier climb
Thank you for visiting this fundraising page for The Jimmy Fund, an organization that has been helping children with cancer for decades.
I've never had problems motivating myself to hike up fascinating mountains, but making them fundraisers makes the climb more than just about ourselves, our goals, and our stories about trudging along at higher elevations. I remember The Jimmy Fund fondly since way back when I followed the Red Sox as a kid.
I plucked the Mount Rainier picture off a USGS web site, but I plan to get dozens of my own pictures of this iconic mountain, still an active volcano.
Interestingly, Rainer once stood at 16,000 feet (about 1,450 feet higher than today) until a major debris avalanche about 5,000 years ago.
Your generosity is always appreciated!
