Violet is at Blue Ridge Veterinary Associates having an emergency hysterectomy.  She has developed an uterine infection that has caused her body to become septic.   The x-rays showed that her uterus is not even in the right place.  It is swollen and under her ribs right now.  It is leaking gas into her abdominal cavitity which has caused her to become septic.  She is having surgery today (January 16, 2010) and will be hospitalized for at least 3 days.  

This poor girl has had such a tough start after she was rescued by Bully Paws with a serious case of pneumonia.   Bully Paws still has an outstanding bill for pneumonia for about $700.  With the added cost of her emergency hysterectomy and hospitalization, her medical bills will be about $2200.
