Police Unity Tour
During National Law Enforcement Officer's Week, I will participating with over 1000 other police officers on a 300+ mile bike ride across Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and into D.C. in an event called the Police Unity Tour. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness of fallen Police Officers, honor their sacrifice, provide comfort for the families of the fallen officers, and support our National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington D.C.
This year I am riding with Police Unity Tour Chapter IX. I will be leaving from Valley Forge, PA on May 9th and arriving at the Memorial on May 12th I will then be participating in the Candlelight Vigil at the Memorial on May 13th as an escort to family members of a slain officer.
I will be riding in Honor of Trooper First Class Shaft Hunter. In May 2011, TFC Hunter was killed in a car crash while pursuing a motorcycle on I-95 in Howard County, MD. TFC Hunter served the Maryland State Police for 11 years during which time he was also a K9 Trooper. TFC Hunter was a U.S. Marine prior to becoming a Trooper. He left behind 6 children and a large, loving family.
Please take a moment and donate to the Police Unity Tour in my name and support my ride with a tax deductible donation. I must raise $1750.00 to ride, so every little bit-even a few dollars helps! This money will go to support the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.
