Safe schools are incredibly important both to protect LGBT youth and to demonstrate to all students that intolerance of LGBT people is unacceptable.  I was lucky to have supportive, tolerant parents (and a strong will) in an area where many of my classmates' parents and families were decidedly NOT tolerant of LGBT people, and where the schools had no resources for LGBT students--please help me help adolescents who don't have it as good as I did.

Last year I was really thrilled to participate in the walking portion of this event and meet my goal of $500.  This year, I'm aiming even higher--my goal is ($1000) $1500!  Thanks to everyone who helped me reach $1000 almost a week before the 5K--now let's see if we can push it even further to support GSA for Safe Schools and all the students they help!

To demonstrate my commitment to increasing my fundraising, I will be running the 5K this year--I have now done a full 5K on my own, and look forward to the official run on Sunday!  Please help me help me strike a superheroic blow against intolerance (see photo for evidence of my superheroic potential) and support GSA for safe schools!
