For the past 16 years, the dojang we attend sponsors a fund raising event called the J.K. Lee Board Break-A-Thon.
This year the 16th annual J.K. Lee Board Break-A-Thon fundraiser, to benefit the MACC Fund and the H.O.T. Unit of Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, will be held Saturday February 20th 2010 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Mayfair Mall´s Center Court. Proceeds will benefit all local children suffering from cancer and related blood disorders.
Also this year, we are dedicating our efforts of “breaking boards” for Hollyn Peterson a young girl and fellow martial artist who defines the phrase "Warrior Spirit" as she continues to battle her devastating illness today!
All proceeds from the event go directly to the MACC Fund and the H.O.T. Unit at Children´s Hospital of Wisconsin. In addition, you get to see some "cool" Martial Arts demonstrations every hour throughout the day.
So here are the rules, Elizabeth & I will be given five boards each to break, and a pledge is made for each board. For example, if we receive a pledge for $1 per board, the total pledge would be $10.00.
